- User Content: Videos and images uploaded for verification and social features

- Location Data: Collected only with your explicit permission for location-based features (e.g., local matches)

We process your personal information based on the following legal grounds:
- Performance of a Contract: To provide the services you requested by creating an account
- Legitimate Interests: To improve our app, ensure security, and analyze usage
- Consent: Where you have given us explicit permission (e.g., location data or marketing)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the App's performance tracking features
- Calculate XP, rankings, and performance metrics via AI orchestration
- Send push notifications for challenges and social activity
- Protect against fraud and enforce our Terms & Conditions
- Marketing and Promotion: We may use videos or content you designate as "public" or upload to community feeds for promotional activities, including featuring your athletic performances on GoZone's official social media accounts and in advertising campaigns
4. Data Sharing & Service Providers
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with:
- Public Athlete Profiles: If your profile visibility is set to public, your athlete profile (name, photo, position, level, school/club, city & state, class year, age, height/weight, and performance stats such as OVR, Game IQ, move mastery, shooting, and trophies) is visible to anyone on the internet via gozone.app, including recruiters and brands — not only signed-in users. We do not make your email, date of birth, exact location/GPS, or contact details public.
- Social Media & Public Feeds: Content you contribute to public areas of the App is accessible to other users and may be shared by us on external social media platforms
- Third-Party Service Providers: We use industry-standard cloud infrastructure, database providers, and analytics tools. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities
5. International Data Transfers
GoZone is based in the United States. If you are accessing the App from outside the U.S., please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. By using the App, you consent to this transfer and processing.
6. Your Rights (including CCPA/GDPR)
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access & Portability: Request a copy of your data
- Correction: Request that we fix inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request that we delete your account and associated data
- Opt-Out: Revoke permissions for location or push notifications at any time

7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some information may persist in encrypted, secure backups for an additional period (up to 60 days) to ensure system integrity.
8. Children's Privacy
GoZone is not intended for children under 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. Users between 14 and 18 must have parental or guardian consent to use the App. For users between 14 and 18, profile data is public only while visibility is set to public; a parent or guardian may request we set a minor's profile to private or delete it by contacting us.
9. Cookies and Website Tracking
The mobile App does not use tracking cookies. However, our marketing website (gozone.app) may use cookies and similar technologies to analyze web traffic and improve user experience. You can manage your cookie preferences through your web browser settings.
10. Data Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
11. Public Scouting Profiles & Your Choices
GoZone is a recruiting and discovery platform. By default, athlete profiles are discoverable so coaches, recruiters, and brands can find you. You control this:
- Opt out anytime: Set your profile visibility to private in the app. A private profile is removed from public athlete search and can no longer be opened as a public scouting profile on gozone.app. On public leaderboards, a private athlete's location is hidden.
- What is never public: Your email, exact date of birth, precise location/GPS coordinates, push tokens, and account/subscription details are never exposed on public surfaces.
- Minors: If you are under 18, you and your parent/guardian should review your visibility setting together. You may make your profile private at any time.
